Formerly the Division Manager for Customer Care at the Metropolitan Cebu Water District, Atty. Lapid effectively managed customer concerns. His past roles as a Corporate Attorney and Senior Corporate Attorney at the same organization highlight his deep understanding of legal matters within a corporate context.
Atty Lapid's passion for education is evident in his former part-time teaching engagements at Cebu Normal University, Silliman University, and Negros Oriental State University, where he shares his expertise in Mass Media Law, Broadcast News Production, and Labor Relations.
His media background includes significant contributions to ABS-CBN Broadcasting Corporation, where he was a TV Patrol Central Visayas reporter and radio anchor for various news and commentary programs of DYAB 1512 in Cebu. Additionally, he played a key role in establishing the Facebook, Youtube, and Audio streaming platforms for DYAB, and contributed online content for ABS-CBNNews.com. He also gained valuable experience as a News Correspondent for TV5 Manila and a Photojournalist and News Correspondent for The Freeman, solidifying his media expertise.
As the Founding Partner of Lapid Law Firm in Cebu, Atty. Lapid leads a team of 10 associates, specializing in Special Proceedings, Property Law, and Contracts. His expertise in Property Law encompasses various matters, including property sales, acquisitions, leases, and disputes. He is currently pursuing a Master of Laws at the University of the Philippines Diliman, further enhancing his legal knowledge and skills.
Atty. Lapid's commitment to community service is reflected in his past and present involvement with organizations such as the Integrated Bar of the Philippines (IBP), where he presently serves as the Assistant Director for the 26th Board of Directors of IBP Cebu Chapter. He was also an active National Union of Journalists of the Philippines (NUJP) member, serving as the former Vice Chairperson for the Dumaguete Chapter.
